was the main attraction at the Christmas celebration held by the Lake Pointe Church in Rockwell, Texas. The town can claim Castro as its own - the dreaded dude calls the place home. Ukulele in hand, Castro softly strummed his way through a beautiful rendition of “White Christmas” for the happy crowd.

I doubt Bing Crosby could have pleased them more.

Castro is currently signed, working on an album and cropping up sporadically in different places. The finalist has been heard performing with his band, through Amazon.com and now on the church stage. Keep your ears open - there’s no telling where he’ll show up strumming next.

Below, you can hear the song “Smack Into You” as performed by singer/songwriter Jon McLaughlin. He apparently performed the song - more than once - on one of his live tours. Now, the ditty is on a Beyonce album and rumor has it that the track is stolen.

Surely, Sasha Fierce will soon shed some light on all this.

Beatles fans might get a thrill when they see endorsing a philanthropic campaign from the grave…or, they might be a little weirded out.

In a new ad spot, Lennon’s voice and image are used to promote “One Laptop per Child,” a project that offers solar-powered computers to poverty-stricken kids. As we all know, John Lennon died from gunshot wounds in 1980 (almost exactly twenty-eight years ago). His widow Yoko Ono approved the endorsement for the “Laptop” foundation.

U2

Next spring, U2 will show us all what they’ve been working on since dismantling a bomb.

Although the group had originally planned to complete its next project by the end of 2008, their 12th studio album is now scheduled for a March 3 release. (No Line on the Horizon will be available internationally on March 2.) The band’s desire to add more tracks is the reason for the delay.

“I met with the guys in U2, and they say to me, ‘You know what? This album needs two more songs, and it will be exactly what we have in mind.’ I go there and I listen, and I agreed with them,” Interscope-Geffen-A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine stated.

Over a year after tossing a fan off a concert stage, hip-hop artist Akon finally learned his punishment.

The performer, who was once facing over a year in jail, plead guilty to second-degree harassment today. The charge stemmed from a June 2007 when Akon appeared at a KFEST event in Fishkill, NY. When the singer was hit by a flying object (you can see that moment at around the :13 mark), he asked that the culprit be brought to the stage. That was when Akon (a.k.a. Aliaune Thiam) took matters into his own hands.

Since prosecutors agreed to drop a child endangerment charge, the 35-year-old was slapped with just a $250 fine and 65 hours of community service.

Could Fall Out Boy be looking for a new manager?

Although the band had intended to give a free acoustic concert earlier this week, poor planning forced the group members to awkwardly improvise. Someone neglected to file the necessary paperwork for the Washington Square Park appearance, which meant the use of instruments would not be allowed.

Fearing they would be arrested by the New York police department if they chose to rebel, the group members elected to do an a cappella performance instead. (The show must go on, right?)

The Dre-Shady partnership has worked very successfully on past albums. According to reports, Dre even suspended work on his own album, Detox, to work on Relapse.

"I don't have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go - not even close," Eminem said of the partnership. "Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on Relapse. We are up to our old mischievous ways ... let's just leave it at that."

Jennifer HudsonDespite earlier reports that might soon return work, the Oscar winner realizes that she’s still not emotionally ready.

Last week, J Records told the Associated Press that Hudson would begin filming a new music video sometime this week. The label said the “If It Isn’t Love” shoot was originally supposed to happen around the time her family members were murdered in October. And though it was Jennifer’s intention to “finish what she started,” a source for the 27-year-old said Hudson has since acknowledged “that she’s not ready to go back to work.”

Although Jennifer hasn’t been seen in public since the tragedy, the 27-year-old did release a statement shortly after her recent Grammy nominations.  “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing.” Only time will tell whether Hudson will feel up to appearing at the February 8th ceremony.
